I'm pressing 100 copies of this album to vinyl over the summer (2017). The records will be standard 12" black vinyl in full-color jackets. Each album will include a lyrics insert and an immediate download option via bandcamp. Each record will be hand-numbered and signed by me. This site (bandcamp) is the only place I'm making the records available for sale (unless you track me down and pay cash).

I'll be touring the USA via bicycle all summer (check the blog: longcut.bike ), so the albums will not ship out until late August 2017. You may request a full refund at any time prior to shipment.

Track Name: Walker Texas Ranger in the Snow
Down by the tracks of the Norfolk Southern line with some whiskey and a worn out winter coat
You took too much of other folks' advice, now they left you here alone and on your own

But I know a place where desperate people go
Down by the banks of the Ohio
Some come to get high, some come just to get by
And others they just stare into the night
Others they just stare into the night

Now you're up shit creek with nowhere left to go, like Walker Texas Ranger in the snow
That 2 wheel drive ain't gonna get you outta dodge, and walking on your feet is mighty slow

But I know a place where desperate people go
Down by the tracks of the old railroad
Some come to get high, some come just to get by
And others they just stare into the night
Others they just stare into the night
Track Name: Next to Me
On a prop plane to Roanoke, 9 o'clock at night
Worn out and half broke, and sky high
The overwhelming oscillations helped me stir my tea
And like so many situations, I wish you were next to me

Driving down the turnpike in a rented car
Tap the brakes and turn right, make a stop at the bar
There's 49 other states where I would rather be
But everything would be alright if you were next to me

Do you remember that letter you wrote years ago?
"You should take more credit, you're alright you know"?
Well last night I lost it, like literally
But you could write me another if you were next to me
Track Name: Eternity and Beyond
I paid 2200 dollars for an engraved granite gravestone
It's got symbols words and letters to remind me of my home

Well the monument man said don't miss out this is surely your last chance
To have everything you ever wanted for just 12 petty payments
You'll be the greatest ghost of the graveyard, you'll be the mightiest man of them all
You'll be bigger than your brother for eternity and beyond

We got Muslims, Jews, and Christians, Buhhdists and B'hai
We'll even accept athiests if they can pay the price
It's just 2200 dollars for an engraved granite gravestone
That's got symbols words and letters to remind you of your home
Track Name: Tis the Season
I hear the sirens drone in the distance
Over dull streetlights on a January night
There's a small splash of street scum
Under each car going who-knows-where tonight

From feeling down and dreaming
To fucked up and screaming
Holy god believing
Tis the season

Well the sun sets slow but it comes too soon
Don't notice cause I'm thinkin bout you
Every day it's about the same
Go to sleep and pray for change

From feeling down and dreaming
To fucked up and screaming
Holy god believing
Tis the season
Track Name: The Dudebro in the Front Row
I'll be the dudebro in the front row
Muttering profanities
About murdering middle-class families
At the Bernie Sanders rally

I'll be a good looking, book-cooking banker
Selling short securities
With an inexplicable anger
And an ever-growing hunger

I'll be a red-pill, right-wing left-swipe
Lying to my wife
When I list to her the reasons
That I can't sleep at night

I'll be an average American white male
With ample opportunity
Watching from my window
As the world revolves around me
Track Name: Five Dollar Frisbee
Well a five dollar frisbee is fun in the summer
But it ain't worth much when you got four others
So when the wind blows you can leave it in the gutter
Covered in mud and forgotten altogether
Altogether, Altogether, Altogether
All together now, leave it in the gutter
In the gutter, in the gutter, in the gutter

Well this piece of paper looks fine from a distance
Cause you can't see the marks or the rips or the creases
You can try to tape it, you can try to erase it
But we both know, in the end you're going to waste it
Gon' waste it, gon' waste it, gon' waste it
Gon' waste it then replace it
Replace it, replace it, replace it

Well I don't know and I've never been told
Where to find a fix for a broken soul
like a man made of metal on a yellow brick road
who tripped and fell down a hundred-foot hole
I don't know, I don't know, I don't know
Where to go
Track Name: Effortless
I'm trying hard not to try too hard
And I only drink at dive bars
Choosing words that aren't too smart
And I only play cheap guitars

I paid top dollar to look this effortless
A popped collar on a pastel shirt
Raise your hand when you get sick of this
Pinch me when it starts to hurt

Don't know where but I gotta get going
The sign says this store is closed
It's five o'clock somewhere I know it
The sun's setting on some other coast
Track Name: Things That I Must Do
I got a backpack and a bottle of whiskey
EZ-widers, five brothers, and car keys
If I don't come back soon darlin' don't you miss me
If I don't come back soon darlin' don’t be sad

Cause there are things that I must do
That do not concern you
Yes there are things that I must do
Things that I must, things that I must do

Been gone now for two nights and three days
Found a barn and made a mattress out of hay
But honey don't you worry I'll be OK
Honey don't you worry I'll be fine

Cause there are things that I must do
That do not concern you
Yes there are things that I must do
Things that I must, things that I must do

A fortnight is a long time to be absent
Got no gas, no friends, and my moneys spent
If you get this letter baby please don't lament
If you get this letter baby don't be sad

Cause there are things that I must do
That do not concern you
Yes there are things that I must do
Things that I must, things that I must do

I'm writing you to tell you that I'm sorry
For living, and breathing I'll soon not be
The fiery flames of hell will surely char me
The fiery flames of hell will take my soul

Cause there are things that I have done
That the father and the son
Could not forgive of anyone
Could not forgive, could not forgive of anyone
Track Name: The Crusher
Just a junkyard car crucified on a shipping container
With a cracked windshield and faded paint that ain't half bad
Just needs a new ignition and some TLC
The next generation's got nothing on me

I wanna be free to be defying death on a Harley-Davidson
Jet-black patches on my jacket and white hair in the wind
Crashing college parties, manifesting destiny
Vomit on the floor and say it wasn't me

But I'm just a junkyard car rotting from the inside out
Waiting for the day that they tow me away
May the jaws of the crusher have cotton teeth
And may eternal peace come easily
Track Name: A Rock and a River
Staring at the ceiling of a shitty hotel room
There's nothing left I need to tell you
Cause we've been down this road before
14 times, what's 14 more?

Between a rock and a river is where you'll find me
I'm not moving but I swear I'm trying
Are we gunning for the future, are we running from the past?
A shitty metaphor, a half-drank glass

So I'll start walking, I won't stop till I make it to the mountaintop
It'll be better up there, I'll finally figure it out, I swear
Could've took a train on Tuesday, or an airplane earlier
But I'm insane and confused and I'd do anything for you girl

Keep dreaming, don't stop believing
Do all the things you need to do
Make the most of the life you're leading
But always know that I love you
Track Name: When the Wagon Rolls
I'll go when the wagon rolls
I'll go when the wagon rolls
I'll go when the wagon rolls
So shut your eyes and hold me close

Gonna get that Cali gold
Gonna get that Cali gold
Gonna get that Cali gold
By god, I'm gone tomorrow

This time I ain't missing out
This time I ain't missing out
This time I ain't missing out
Cause this is how we end this drought

I'll go when the wagon rolls
I'll go when the wagon rolls
I'll go when the wagon rolls
So shut your eyes and hold me close
Track Name: Go Real Far
Listening to punk rock
In an economy car
30 miles to the gallon
We can go real far
Go real far

Now we're burning up the brake pads
And grinding through the years
Can you take the wheel baby?
And maybe help me steer?
Maybe help me… steer

Is this the life you wanted
Did you wanna be a star?
Are you happy here with me?
In my economy car
Listening to punk rock
We're gonna go real far
We're gonna go real far
